Our lawn jockeys are tailored to your desired order and hand-painted by artist Lucia Millwood in her Aiken studio. Individualized designs in intricate colors, custom logos and modifications take a little longer to create.
The Jockey Journey
Step 1: Design & Planning
Picking jockey colors, design of front and back. Custom modifications and client approval of the plan.
Step 2: Basic Colors
Large sections of color applied first. Drying time between coats of quality oil paint often takes 1-2 weeks.
Step 3: Details
Design details coming together with a custom logo and special client requests. Extremely custom items take 1-2 weeks.
Step 4: Finishing & Delivery
Final photos sent for approval. Then we add a special sealant coating for the weather and he’s ready to go home.
